July 14-18, 2008
Whether you are a tournament-hardened chess veteran wanting to sharpen your skills
or an interested beginner simply wanting to learn the rules, Delphi's week-long
chess camp will be both challenging and a lot of fun. This camp is available to
students enrolled in our 4 or 6-week programs and replaces
afternoon activities on the dates above.
You'll get to do chess puzzles and learn tactics, strategies and the best ways to
begin each game. You can study and practice good ways to attack as white and defend
as black. Last but not least will be practice at how to end the game in your favor.
Chess camp is divided into two groups: Elementary and Middle School students are
in one group; Upper School students are in the other. Each group meets for two and
a half hours a day for four days. The camp ends with the Delphi Invitational Chess
Tournament.
